The 46th Annual Lakota Nation Invitational – Rapid City, SD

Cheyenne River Hoops had 8 representatives in the Basketball Tournament with the Dupree Lady Tigers in the Oceti Sakowin Bracket. The Top 16 boys and top 16 girls’ teams were put into the upper bracket. The upper bracket is based on last year’s results and 7/8 teams from CRST were placed in the “HeSapa Bracket.” The HeSapa Bracket is the lower 8 of the 24 boys, and the lower 8 of the 24 girls basketball teams. Dupree boys, C-EB Boys, C-EB girls, Tiospaye Topa Girls, Tiospaye Topa Boys, Takini Boys and Takini Girls were all placed in the “HeSapa Bracket”.
C-EB Girls placed 6th in the HeSapa Bracket-1st round loss to Santee (51-49), 2nd round win vs Takini (59-18), and lost in 5th place game to the Tiospaye Topa Lady Thunder Hawks (51-44)(All-Tourney Senior Tiana Johnson)
Tiospaye Topa Girls earned 5th place in the HeSapa Bracket- 1st round loss to Oelrichs (50-55). 68-18 2nd round win over Crazy Horse, and 51-44 win over C-EB for 5th Place in HeSapa Bracket.
Takini Girls finished 8th place in HeSapa with 66-13 Loss in 1st round to Wakpala, 59-18 2nd round loss to C-EB and falling 54-17 in 7th place game to Crazy Horse.
Takini Boys took a 1st round loss to C-EB 81-36. 2nd round 55-40 Loss to Tiospaye Topa Boys, but defeated Oelrichs 48-45 earning 7th place in HeSapa Bracket (All-Tourny Senior Logan Quilt)
Tiospaye Topa Boys lost 1st round 67-28 against St.Francis, defeated Takini 55-40 in 2nd round, and loss to Wakpala 49-45 earning 6th place in HeSapa Bracket (All-Tourny Senior Kaden Rousseau)
The Dupree Boys won their 1st round game over Wakpala in Over-time thriller 63-58. 2nd round they fell to Santee 64-53 and finished 4th after losing the 3rd place game against C-EB Boys 61-48 (All-tourney Senior Elijah Brewer)
The C-EB Boys defeated Takini in 1st round 81-36. fell to St. Francis in 2nd round 42-39 but defeated the Dupree Boys 61-48 to earn 3rd place in HeSapa Bracket. (All-tourny Sophomore Levi Elk Nation)
Dupree Girls lost to Wall in 1st round, Win over Todd County in 2nd round, Loss to Crow Creek in 3rd round and Loss to Lower Brule in their last game. (Only CRST team to qualify for upper 16-Oceti Sakowin Bracket) 3rd Place Mako Sica Bracket (11th/16)
