Cheyenne River Voters have Spoken…and they are supporting a new Tribal Chairman. The unofficial general election results show that Ryman Lebeau beat Harold Frazier 1273 to 781 votes…Kevin Keckler took the win over Kenita Counting for tribal treasurer. And here is how the community districts shake out..In District one, Daniel James Marshall beat Bernita In the Woods. District three, Kenric Dupris beat Michell White Wolf …in District 4, Thad Rose and Kelsie Haskell take the number one and two spots out of all 4 vying for the spot…in district five Joe Brings Plenty and Bob Walters are the top two vote getters… and in district six, Tuffy Thompson beat Dixie LeCompte. Again…these are unofficial results. Statewide…Kristi Noem will stay in the Governor’s mansion…John Thune will keep his seat in the U.S. Senate and Dusty Johnson has won the South Dakota U.S. House seat…

Cheyenne River’s Roxee Hollaway was inducted into the South Dakota Cowboy Hall of Fame…She began competing in kids rodeo at just 5 years old and won her first buckle at 10…Roxee was one of the first lady rodeo pick up riders in the region. Roxee is the daughter of Johnny and Sharon Holloway…
