The Lady Braves are (2-5) after Saturday’s 26-46 loss to the Lady Cubs (5-2) from Chamberlain, and now sit at 7th in the Region 6-A Standings. Coach Molash looks to get the upset today (Mon.Jan8) on the road. C-EB Girls travel to McLaughlin to face the number 1 ranked team in SD Girls Region 6-A, The Lady Mustangs who have a tough offensive attack, are (8-2) on the season.
The Cheyenne-Eagle Butte Braves Boys Basketball Team are currently 3rd in So.Dak Region 6-A and increase their season record to (5-2) with their 67-44 victory over the (0-7) Chamberlain Cubs on Saturday (Jan.6). The KIPI Radio Player of the Game honors went to Sophomore #1 Damien Clown. Damien started the game hitting his first two 3pt shots that sparked the Braves offense. Clown is one of 5 sophomore guards from Cheyenne-Eagle Butte who play the game with toughness and intensity. He is the son of Delmar Clown Jr. Delmar played with some great Sky Hawks and Braves teams in the 90’s and has scoring records (Highest 3pt. %) (3pt. shots made) at the University of Mary Div. 2 college in Bismarck, ND.
The Braves travel to Crow Creek Tuesday Jan. 9 to face the (1-7) Chieftains. Friday Jan. 12 C-EB transfer Mackenzie Cass comes home to face the Braves. Cass transferred to Lakota Tech to play for Native Hoops Legend McKenzie Casey for his senior year. The Tatanka are 2-3 on the season. Cass was the original player of the game a season ago and earned Lakota Tech’s All-Tournament team selection at the 2023 Lakota Nation Inv.
The Lady Tigers are (2-6) and ranked 6th in South Dakota Region 6-A Girls Basketball. Dupree host (8-1) Lemmon on Saturday Jan. 13th
Senior Guard Taylee Jewett leads the team in scoring and her supporting cast of Longbrake, Knife and Jensen look to help the Lady Tigers increase their winning percentage on the season.
The (2-3) Dupree Tigers Boys Basketball team host (5-2) Harding County Tuesday Jan. 9 and travel to Lemmon (6-1) on Thursday Jan 11
The Tigers are currently ranked #2 in the South Dakota Region 6-A standings. Their last game was Dec. 16 vs. C-EB so the Tigers are hungry to compete after three long weeks.
