The Homeward Leader Launches a Rural Health Scholarship in Partnership with the American Medical Association Foundation and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The Native American Center for Health Professions (NACHP) Scholarship for Advancing Health Equity, established in 2020, is awarded annually with preference given to medical students at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health who are members of a federally or state-recognized Native American tribe and/or who demonstrate a commitment to address health disparities that impact Native American populations.
Native Forward Celebrates 50 Years of Creating Higher Education Access for Native Students, and, are Inducting Indigenous Leaders Into Hall of Fame. Native Forward Scholars Fund, previously known as the American Indian Graduate Center, the oldest and largest direct scholarship provider to Native scholars in the U.S., will celebrate its 50th anniversary on February 22nd with a gala at the National Museum of the American Indian in the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C. U.S. Interior Secretary Deb Haaland is among the inductees.
