Darian Bon Lee was born July 6, 1997, at the Old Indian Health Hospital in Eagle Butte, SD to Nancy Kay LeBeau and Pizi Lee. Welcoming him was his sister Brittany and brothers, Eric and Darius. Darian was baptized at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Eagle Butte, SD. He believed in the spiritual ways.
Darian attended C-EB schools and worked various jobs. He liked the job he started when he became a security guard during the COVID-19 pandemic. He wanted to pursue a career in law enforcement.
Darian met his love, Angel L. Bear Eagle and to this union, they brought two sons, Adrian Kingston and Hayden Easton Lee into their little family. He loved these boys and made sure they were always taken care of.
Darian enjoyed hanging out with family and friends, spending time at the river, or fishing with his dad. He loved to cook, learning all his skills from his mother, yet still called her on how to cook certain foods. Darian had many nicknames: Bon, Bonjovi and Baby D, were the names only family members called him.
His siblings were very protective of him. Anything he wanted, he got! Darian also was very protective of his sister Brittany. When she was younger, he always made sure she came in the house at curfew. She would be visiting with Chris outside and Darian would be flickering the porch light on and off, letting her know it was time to get in the house. He would go outside and tell her, “Mom wants you in the house.” If she wouldn’t come in, he would go to her room, mess it up, hide her makeup or anything special to her. His favorite trick was to put fake snakes in her bed!
Darian and his brother Darius loved to cook. They would tell the ladies to get out of the kitchen saying, “time to leave the kitchen so us REAL men can cook.” The best times for them was when they both worked security at the manor during the pandemic. When clocking in they were called, “The Lee Boys.” Together they made a lot of great memories.
When Darian was younger, he collected a lot of semi-trucks. His brother Eric remembers how excited Darian would get when he would see semi-trucks go by on the highway. He would say, “look at that chemi,” (He couldn’t yet pronounce semi). They family even had to make stops at the truck stops just to check out the semi’s; making sure they were hooked up. Everyone ended up drawing him pictures of semi’s until he started drawing them on his own.
Darian loved his animals, with his cats, if they accidently scratched him, he would put them in “jail”, which was the hallway closet. His Beta fish “Bruce”, lived past a fish’s lifespan. Darian always made sure to feed and care for him. After Bruce died, they got another, naming him “Dave”.
Darian was very close to his mom, anything Bon wanted, she would get or try to anyway. He also had many nieces and nephews, loving them all so much.
